Los Padres LeagueThe Morro Bay Pirates had two LPL wins on Thursday. First their appeal of Tuesday's loss was upheld due to a Saints player participating in both the JV and Varsity matches on the same day. Then they defeated Lompoc at home on a combination of luck and hustle.

In a game of 'call and response' Cabrillo was one response short. The Conqs answered each Titans goal except the last, partially due to a tremendous save by Jason Alvarado on a free kick from 23 meters out in the waning minutes of the 2nd OT period.

In the 1st half Holt Alden rolled a Penalty Kick right to the goalie, but his luck would change.
Jackson Chavez got his 2nd goal in a 5 minute span of the 2nd half when Alden kicked a deep ball in towards the box and the Lompoc keeper came out to get it. The ball then took a very high hop of the turf and over his head. It turned into a sprint and collision with Chavez getting just enough of it to see it roll into the net.

DP missed on a free kick from 25, and 3 corners, and the Royals saw two shots go awry. One was stopped just inside the post, and the other cleared the crossbar with the GK out of position.

The Royals finally got the gang together, playing with the full squad for the 1st time this year. They made it pay off by putting a lickin' on a Tritons squad that beat them by 4 in December.
