Girls Tennis - Team
USTA SoCal Regional Tournament
Several Area teams that won CIF-SS titles advanced to the USTA Regional Tournament, but did not fare so well.
Both the northern and southern areas of the state each select 16 teams to compete in two regional tournaments. Those teams selected are seeded and bracketed, in an all division competition. The South teams are drawn from the Southern Section, LA City Section, San Diego Section, and the Central Section. The North is the other 6 State CIF Sections.
The competition is held using a different scoring system. Each element of the team (4 singles players, 3 doubles duos) play their opposite number on the other team in a best-of-3 sets match.

CIF-SS Playoffs
The CIF-SS Girls Tennis team competition concluded with two of the 5 Division Titles in the hands of Area squads. Arroyo Grande took the Division 3 crown in a real tight match, and Carpinteria cruised to the Division 5 Championship.
The Girls Individual Tournament is slated to start with Qualifying Sectionals on 25 Nov and conclude with the final four rounds on Dec 3-5.

Those teams are seeded and bracketed, with the Northern bracket winner facing the Southern bracket winner for the State Championship. This occurs in each of 5 enrollment-based divisions. St Joseph golfer Danielle Gillaspy has an 8 am tee-time on Thursday in the 2013 CIF-WSCGA Foundation SoCal Regional Girls' Golf Championship. She is in the 2nd group on the 309 yard, par 4 7th hole as part of a 36 group shotgun start over all 18 holes. Individual and team qualifiers will advance to the State Championship to be held on Wednesday, November 20th, at Quail Lodge Golf Club in Carmel.
Update: Danielle came up a bit short. She shot an 82 to finish in the top 1/3 or so. Those (3 Teams, 9 Individuals) advancing can be found HERE. Muni He (66) was the Medalist and led Torrey Pines to the Team Championship.
