Although some folks watched the game, one of the major attractions Tuesday afternoon was the 1st appearance at a Cabrillo sporting event of Otto. The tyke was born 30 Oct to John Brubacher and former CHS Polo star Kaitlyn Ogan.
He got a chance to see the game and be seen by many well-wishers. Rumors that he will be starting for the 2030 Conqs team are thus far unconfirmed.

The Conquistadores started their pursuit of a CIF-SS Div. 4 title by facing an over-matched Villanova Prep squad from the private boarding school in Ojai.
Cabrillo missed several easy opportunities early, but still managed to push the margin to 11 points and hold off a late surge for a rather convincing win in game that got somewhat chippy at the end.
The Conqs led 5-2 at the first break, but they had 8 more shots that were saved or just barely missed. Eduardo Cardenas started things off with a bang. He won the opening sprint, flicking the ball over to his teammates, then got it back on the give-and-go, and drilled it into the lower right-hand corner of the net to put Cabrillo up a goal just 11 seconds into the game.
The Conqs substituted liberally in the 2nd half, with the starters seeing occasional spot duty. Alex Hamner's second tally of the half made it 16 -5 with just over 4 minutes left in the 4th period. Senior Jake Wright was the major offense force for the Wildcats - scoring 7 goals, 4 in the 4th period.
