It wasn't as close as the score would indicate either. The Titans never really came close to stopping the Braves offense, and Lompoc had ist half 2 TDs negated by penalties. The Braves lost 65 yards on an erstwhile Greg Mitchell TD reception, and 25 more on a run by A.J. Florez. Each play was flagged for an illegal block that occurred behind the action, but Lompoc would score a few plays later both times.
With the Braves leading 63-14, Nipomo fumbled a kickoff return and Lompoc recovered at the Titan 21 yard line with 61 seconds remaining in the 2nd quarter. Back-up QB Drayton Howell took a knee to burn the clock in what would prove to be the only 1st half possession that the Braves would not score a touchdown.
The Braves' 3-headed RB monster demonstrated its voracious appetite for yardage in the 1st half - Austin Hayes had 7 carries for 124 yards, A.J. Florez had 7 for 163, and Derrick Portis utilized an extra attempt to lead the trio with 175 yards on 8 rushes (1Q: 5-152, 2TD). Yup, they compiled 462 yards on 22 carries for a 21.0 average.
In just the 1st Quarter, Lompoc ran 14 plays for 247 yards. They had 3 1st downs and 4 TDs. They would finish the half with 9 of each.

Lompoc 29, Nipomo 25
The Braves finally pulled this out at the end. Brad Osborne had a rushing TD and Torey Sims had 2 more. Sims also hit twice for scores - once Teddy Perry for a TD pass and another for a 2-point conversion.
