Five Sectionals are held at five regional 'locations' - each with Tournament Managers from area schools. Generally league representatives are assigned to the sectional in their regional area. Check-in times vary, usually with a much smaller 2nd group checking in later. Brackets to be posted at competition sites.

Northern Area Teams
Were at the Cate/Carpenteria Location. Singles at Cate, Doubles at Carpenteria.
There were 3 rounds of play in both singles and doubles. Some players received 1st round BYEs. The end result was that 4 singles players and 4 doubles pairs advanced.
Part of the difficulty for the area squads was the presence of Campbell Hall at this regional. The Vikings knocked Arroyo Grande out of the playoffs 16-2, en route to a CIF-SS Division 1 Championship. They outscored their 5 D1 Playoff opponents 70-20 in sets.
The next step was the SoCal Regionals where they use a different set-up - 4 singles and 3 pairs play 'best-of-three' matches. They beat Palisades Charter 7-0 (14-1 in sets) in the QF, and Corona del Mar 6-1 in the semis, before falling 4-3 to San Diego Torrey Pines 4-3 in the Final. All three CH representatives advanced - as did the other entry from their league (Brentwood).
SINGLES
Delanie Dunkle (AG) was the local star. She had a first round BYE, then allowed her oppenents just 2 game wins in 4 sets as she cruised through the next two rounds. She also earned a BYE into the Round of 16.
The other PAC-8 rep, Nicoline Breytenbach (Atas) won a 10-8 tiebreaker in the 1st round, lost 1 game in a sweep in the 2nd round, then was defeated by Emily Ackerman (Oaks Chrn.) in the 3rd.
The LPL players both exited in the first round. Templeton's Mili Proft was bounced in strait sets (6-1,6-4) by Jupneet Singh from Rio Mesa. Mary Kovaloski (Santa Ynez) lost to Sasha Kleinman (Miliken) by Default. The reason for the default has not been released.
Three other SB County players participated in Singles. Grace Fuss (Cate) who lost to Dunkle; Yuka Perera (San Marcos) who lost in the 3rd round to the #1 from Campbell Hall; and Katherine Monroy (Laguna Blanca) who lost to Perera.
LPL#1's duo Brie Parker/Julia Deming (SY) had a BYE, then a Bye-Bye from a Camarillo pair. Orcutt Academy's tandem of Sarah Lopez/Keona Pablo also had a quick exit, dropping their 1st-rounder to a pair from Chaminade who were goose-egged by Campbell Hall in the 2nd.
Mary Waterman/Casey Lieberman (AG) had a BYE, but lost their match. Maddy Handy/Riley Quinn (SLO) won their first, but then lost in the 2nd round. Both those bracket sections were won by Gold Coast League teams - Brentwood & Campbell Hall.
There were 3 other SB County teams. A pair from Cate, Summer Christensen/ Sarah Polowczak, lost in the first round to the same outfit that beat Waterman/ Leiberman in the second.
The remaining two teams were in a section that was mostly Northern Area teams. They met in the 3rd round with Mikala Tripplett/Katie Yang (DP) defeating Cate's Cai sisters - Jackie and Carol. Triplett/Yang did not get a round of 16 Bye.

Each of the 5 sectional tournaments had 4 singles, and 4 doubles pairs advance.
The CIF-SS Tennis Advisory Committee then selected the 8 singles players and 8 doubles teams with the lowest seeds to play in the Round of 32. Those selected were announced on the CIF-SS website at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. The other 12 singles/pairs were given BYEs to the Round of 16.
