NSBCo Athletic Round Table
Magdalena Fabikova, Cabrillo Tennis, was named Female Athlete of the Week. The Slovakian exchange student swept both matches last week - outscoring opponents 6-0 (36-7), and has only lost 2 LPL sets this season. Righetti safety Eric Wilson took the boys title.
Cabrillo presented Devon Bedell & Joel Velasquez from the Cross-Country squads, and two senior linemen from the football team - center Leonard Bunten & d-line stalwart Jesus Medrano.
Eduardo Morales and Ricky Garcia represented the Lompoc harriers; with linemen Joseph Powers and Luis Ruiz standing up for the LPL leading football team.

It was a topsy-turvy day for the Pirates, the usual bottom of the line-up carded some of their best rounds of the year, while the top was a smidgeon off the pace. It made no real difference scorewise, but Santa Ynez finished one stroke off the team's course record set on September 9th.
Meredith Stewart won Medalist honors with a 3 over par 39, helped in large measure by nailing a 22-foot birdie putt on the fourth hole. She became the 4th Pirate to shoot an LPL score in the 30's this season, and 2nd place Sarah Sanger flirted with the 30's recording a round of 40.
