The CIF-SS/Ford Championships presented by Farmers
The Lompoc Braves take to the road this week, after three consecutive home games, for a semi-final contest with the 12-0 Nordoff Rangers.
If you go to the game:
1) Leave Early - Ojai Valley Community Stadium is NOT real big, and parking is not extensive. Press reports from earlier this season spoke of the stadium "overflowing with more than 1600" fans. Also the drive requires going through Santa Barbara, potentially at 'rush hour' on a Friday.
2) Dress Warmly - Temperatures on Friday evening are expected to be in the LOW 40's, with fairly high humidity and mostly overcast skies.
3) Drive Carefully - There are esentially two ways to get there, although both go through SB on the 101. One splits off from the 101 just past Carpinteria, and utilizes Hwy 150. This takes you on a nice twisty mountain road past Lake Casitas. The school is several miles past the lake on the south side of the road. The other (recommended) route is to take the 101 to Hwy 33 (just short of Ventura), which is almost a straight shot north. When you reach Hwy 150 in Ojai, veer left past the shopping center, and the school will be a few blocks down on the left (South) side.
If you stay in Lompoc:
You can listen to the usual Lompoc Locker Room presentation of the game. See www.cityoflompoc/taptv for more info.
Either way - GO BRAVES !!!
