Brings Average to .300
RYAN CHURCH continued to wield a blazing bat Friday night at Philadelphia as he rapped a double and two singles in four trips to the plate.
The New York Met centerfielder has been white hot over the past five games going 13-for-22 to lift his season batting average from .267 to .300, a level he has not seen since his roaring start in April when he stood at .419 after nine games.
Besides his contribution at the plate Church also pulled up a nifty sliding catch to rob Jimmy Rollins in the second inning.
Unfortunately the Mets still lost 7-2.
