Duffy Returning to Stride



Allows No Earned Runs


After two sub-par outings Lompoc lefty DANNY DUFFY got back to throwing scoreless innings Wednesday night.

Duffy allowed only one unearned run over three and two-thirds innings at Lynchburg, Virginia though his Wilmington club lost 3-2.

Duffy had to struggle for his clean slate however as only the third inning went 1-2-3.

He gave up a single and a wild pitch before retiring the side in the first.

In the second an error, another wild pitch, a single, and a sac fly produced the Hillcats’ unearned run. Duffy gave up an infield single and a walk before closing the frame.

In the fourth Duffy departed with two out and the bags loaded after a single, a bunt single, a throwing error, and a walk

Duffy struck out five and walked two. He is scheduled for the Major League Baseball Futures Game later this month.
