Ryan Bower, Allan Hancock College Baseball [Lompoc]
The 2011 Lompoc HS graduate, pitched 7 shutout innings on Saturday to help the Bulldogs defeat Bakersfield in the Renegades own tournament. Bower struck out 10, and scattered 2 hits and a walk, as AHC won its 2nd game of the year 10-2.

Simone Swain, VCA Basketball

Swain has been a major factor in the success of the Lions team this season. After a 73-27 road blowout of the Cuyama Valley Bears on Tuesday, VCA (13-2, 8-0 Coast Valley League) clinched the CVL Championship at home on Friday with an 81-14 win over Coast Union.
Swain had 22 points versus CV, added 21 against the Broncos, and has been instrumental in the team posting a c. 40 point margin of victory average in CVL play.

Lompoc sent a small contingent to the 14 team PV tourney over the weekend. Facing competition from larger schools, the Braves finished 10th with 16 points.

CIF Southern Section Northern Regional
Pioneer Valley will host the the CIF Southern Section Championships qualifier this coming Friday (12 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.).
Lompoc plans to send Vanessa Lopez, Gabriella Macias, Nena Orante, Miriam Magdaleno, Sam Crocker and Emily Roman to compete. Roman, a senior, is just getting medical clearance to wrestle again after an injury in the pre-season and could surprise some folks.
Girls Water Polo
The Cabrillo JV squad headed up the 101 to the Arroyo Grande JV Tournament on Friday/Saturday. They didn't fare too well against the tough competition like the host Eagles, however, finishing 1-4. The lone victory was over Morro Bay.
