The Braves rolled in both the JV and Varsity, and St. Joseph took down Santa Ynez to lock up 2nd place in the LPL. Both the Pac-8 and the Northern Leagues ended with 3-way ties for the title, and Pioneer Valley beat Righetti giving them a leg up on a playoff berth.
In 8-Man, Orcutt Academy advanced to the 2nd Round, and it would appear that reports of the demise of Joshua Springs have been greatly exaggerated.
The playoff brackets will be announced on Sunday. Lompoc are LPL Champs & likely #1 overall Northern Division (III) seed, after several other contenders lost on Friday. Cabrillo could theoretically get into the party, but realistically are done.
Several Northern Area teams were bidding for perfect records - Lompoc, Grace Brethren succeeded; Paso Robles, Bishop Diego, Pacifica did not.
Whatever the playoff scenario, the Braves will be home for the 1st round and the TAP-TV guys will carry the game live on KTNK (1410 AM) radio. Don't forget that you can see replays of the BIG GAME on Comcast Channel 23 tonight at 11pm and at 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
