CIF Football Playoff Brackets

Lompoc recieved the #1 Seed in the Western Division, but the LPL got hosed again - no wild card and two out of three games on the road. The lack of the wild card was mostly expected, but the road game indicates the LPL#2 (Morro Bay) was the 10th seeded squad in the bracket. The Mission League put 5 of its 6 teams into the tournament, including the Breave 1st round opponent.

The bracket also sets up  potential  match-ups for the Braves with Dos Pueblos (2nd round), and Templeton (semifinal).

The PAC-7 did get some respect in terms of the wild cards, but no love from the bracket. Atascadero and Paso Robles both were selected, but get to play the #1 & #2 seeds respectively. San Luis, if they get past the 1st round, would also get the #1 Seed (Palmdale) -baring an upset by the Greyhounds.

Arroyo Grande hosts a 1st round contest with Hart, who was ranked #1 much of the season before losing their last 2 games. A lot of folks in the pre-season thought these two would play in the finals.

The Area has also produced a bunch of #1 Seeds in various divisions - Lompoc [IV Western], Bishop Diego [X Northwest], Mission Prep [XIII Northeast], St. Bonaventure [Big 5]. There are a number of other strong contenders as well, such as Cate/Cuyama Valley/VCA [all 8 Man] and Defending Div. III Champs Arroyo Grande. Oh, and Inland Div #1 Seed Vista Murrietta's Head Coach is Carp's Coley Candaele - Son/Grandson of the Lompoc Candaele clan.
