A sophomore, continues to be a team leader in her 2nd varsity season. In 3 LPL games during the week, she totaled 39 points, 20 rebounds, and 7 steals.

Male Athlete of the Week
Chad Brodhead, Cabrillo Basketball
The Cabrillo senior came up big in two LPL wins for the Conquistadores. He had 16 of his 29 points in the 4th quarter against the Santa Maria Saints to erase a 4 point (54-50) deficit en route to a 79-66 victory. Two nights later (Fri, Jan 17), he had 21 versus Nipomo in a 94-45 win.
January 27th
Female Athlete of the Week
Leann Wolfe, Righetti, Soccer
In a 3-0 victory for 1st place contest against SLO, Wolfe had 8 saves, including a foot save at point blank range. Coach John Pranjic called it the "game of her life." She also had 4 saves a few days earlier in a 2-0 win over Atascadero.
Male Athlete of the Week
Zach Tolson, Santa Ynez, Wrestling
At Saturday's San Marcos Tournament, Zach took the Lower Weights Most Valuble Wrestler honors and the award for the most pins in the quickest time, while leading Santa Ynez to the tourny title. The Pirates season points leader, he was also one of the few SYVUHS grapplers to take their bout in a dual meet against Santa Maria on Tuesday.
