9/22/16 Freshman Football game is postponed- LHS Athletic Department Statement

The Santa Ynez Pirates, perennial Los Padres League Champs, fell for the second time this week - both times AT HOME. After falling to Cabrillo on Tuesday 10-8, the Orcutt Academy Spartans topped them 12-6 on Thursday.
Except for one year they played too many matches, and had to forfeit some LPL contests, the Pirates have won the title every year for over a decade. Cabrillo won that year.
Depth was a problem for Santa Ynez, they return only 3 starters from last season, while the Spartans only lost two seniors. The hosts were also missing doubles player Brontee Cintron who was out with a rotator cuff injury.
Each of the Spartans singles won at least two sets, and two-time LPL singles champion (2013,2015) Mary Kavaloski lost 6-0 to the OA #2, Megan Vise, in the final round.
Spartans [7-2, 5-0]:
Singles (7-2) - #1 Amanda Hsiung (Sr) 2-1; #2 Megan Vise (So) 3-0 (Lost 1 Game); #3 Kayla Pablo 2-1.
