Seniors Rule !!! , LPL All League Teams

The winning seniors & their coaches.

The 3rd Annual "Powder puff" football game at Huyck Stadium Thursday night was decided early, as the Senior squad scored on 3 of its 1st 4 possessions, rolled to a 20-0 halftime lead, then cruised to a 36 - 8 victory. Quarterback Lauren Lopes had a great night as the Senior team leader, completing 7 of 8 passes for 3 TD's in those 4 series and 13-16, 4 TD's for the game. Her favorite target on the evening was Elicity Fabing (8 recpt., 2 TD, 2 PT conv.), but she also hit Cameron Lizarraga on a long TD pass. Betty Sullivan filled the 'jack-of all-trades' role, catching the first TD pass, rushing for the last TD, and rushing for a 2PT conversion in-between. Gabby Gonzales scored the contests final points - a 2PT PAT.

Hilary Davis led the Underclassmen, throwing a TD to Melissa Morrison on the initial series of the 2nd half, and running in the 2PT conversion herself. She was, however, under heavy duress all night from the relentless Senior defense led by Fabing, Lizarraga, Karlie Doran, and Paty Martinez. Rayshonne Duel-Ray contributed several passes defensed and an interception to the Seniors effort. Cindy Emerson, Brandy Machado, Brianna Rector, & Shandee Berryman led the Underclassman defense.

Most importantly, it was a successful fundraiser for LHS Activities & Athletics - and no-one got hurt.
