Duffy Takes Revenge

Shuts Down Winston-Salem

Facing the same Winston-Salem club which earlier in the week handed him his first defeat since last July DANNY DUFFY chalked up his third win in four decisions Saturday night in a Carolina League game.

Duffy shut out the Dash (yes, that’s their name) through the first five innings while his Wilmington mates built up a 6-0 lead.

He gave up a triple and a single in the sixth, only the third and fourth hits against him, before departing so the misleading box score shows two earned runs in five innings.

His earned run average is now 4.21 his strikeout to walk ratio 24-9.
Duffy was uncharacteristically wild with four bases on balls, a career high. He fanned four.

Also, former Cal Poly slugger Brent Morel who homered twice against Duffy when they last met, went hitless against him this time on a strikeout and a fly ball.
