COLLEGE FOOTBALL

The Cal Poly football teams' 55-35 victory at Portland State on Saturday helped them continue to regain ground lost in South Dakota a few weeks back, They advanced two places to tie spots in both the media and coaches polls.

The Mustangs are tied at # 17 with Coastal Carolina in the STATS Inc. media poll and with Central Arkansas at #18 in the FCS Coaches Poll.

The previously unanimous #1, North Dakota State, dropped a 19-17 MVC thriller to South Dakota State on Saturday and fell to #4 in both polls. They were replaced at the top by Sam Houston State, one of the two remaining undefeated teams in the FCS.
