CIF Pairings & Placements ** Update**

Boys Water Polo
The first round kicks off on Thursday, 13 Nov. 2008 , except for Div VI which includes 7 leagues. They start on Tuesday, 11 Nov. 2008.

LPL / Div VI
LPL Champs Santa Ynez [19-8, 7-0] received a BYE to Thursday, when they will play Prep runners-up Webb [20-7, 5-3]. Cabrillo [9-16, 5-2] hosts Hoover [13-4, 4-2] on Tuesday. Lompoc [7-15, 4-4] travels to Pacifica (Oxnard) [17-10, 6-4] in a match-up of 3rd place teams on Tuesday.
*** As of 12:10 pm, 10 Nov., CIF has redone the Div VI Brackets. Now Lompoc [7-15, 4-4] travels to Rowland [15-13, 6-2]. ****

Pac-7/ Div 4
Arroyo Grande [21-2, 9-1] is the #1 seed in D -IV and will host Peninsula [13-13, 3-5]. Righetti [18-8, 9-1] is the #6 seed - hosting the winner of "Wild Card A". PAC-7 #3 and #13 seed SLO [10-11, 5-5] travels to Bay League Champs and #4 Seed, Palos Verdes [19-9, 8-0]. Poor Carpenteria [8-8, 4-4], stuck in this Division because of Malibu & Oaks Christian, plays the 2nd seeded Marmonte League Champs Royal [21-8, 11-1].

Other Area
In Div I Santa Barbara [21-7, 7-1] is the 4th seed and will play the winner of "Wild Card A". Channel League runner-up Dos Pueblos [22-5, 6-2] pulled down the 6th seed and will host Harvard/Westlake [17-10, 6-2].

Girls Volleyball
First serve is on Tuesday, 11 Nov. 2008. LPL is in Div. IIIAA, and PAC-7 / Channel are in Div. IA, Tri-Valley in IIA.

LPL

Champs & #4 seed Santa Ynez [18-2, 12-0] will host Los Altos [5-8, 5-3], St Joseph [10-9, 9-3] hosts Paramount [10-7, 5-5], Morro Bay [9-8, 8-4] travels to Littlerock [14-4, 12-2] for the right to play #1 seed Village Christian [21-1, 7-1], and Cabrillo [6-12, 6-6] is on the road at Downey [16-5, 10-0].

Div IA / Pac-7
Champs Arroyo Grande [15-1, 12-0] host San Marcos [15-9, 4-4], Atascadero [12-4, 9-3] travels to Notre Dame Academy [10-8, 6-2], SLO travels to Valencia (V) [20-9, 9-0], and Paso Robles is on the road at #1 seed Dos Pueblos [25-3, 8-0]. #2 seed Santa Barbara [21-7, 6-2] hosts Marleborough [9-8, 4-4].

Other Area
In IVAA, Laguna Blanca [13-2, 6-0] received a BYE, and Dunn [7-4, 4-2] hosts Parclete [12-9, 7-3]. Div. V-AA games include Coastal Christian(AG) [16-2, 10-0] hosting Hillcrest Christian , VCA (Santa Maria) [12-11-1, 7-3] hosting Faith Baptist , and Shandon [9-8-1, 7-3] taking a road trip to Sierra Canyon.


Girls Tennis
The Girls Tennis Playoffs first round starts on Thursday, 13 Nov. 2008, with the 2nd round on Saturday, 15 Nov. 2008. However, many Divisions have Wild Card games begining on Tuesday the 11th.

Div IV /LPL

The LPL is in Division IV with 13 other leagues. Result - 11 Wild Card games, involving most LPL teams. Santa Ynez [20-2, 12-0], the #4 seed, is slated to host the winner of WC 'E' (Arroyo Valley/Norte Vista) on Thursday. In Tuesday Wild Card contests St. Joseph [13-3, 10-2] hosts Highland [10-9, 10-4], Cabrillo [10-5, 8-4] hosts El Monte [7-10, 4-4], and Templeton [5-11, 4-8] travels to Palmdale [14-3, 12-2]. Also in Div IV, Condor #1 Cate [8-5, 6-0] hosts Rowland on Thursday.

Div III- 13 Leagues/ Pac-7
On Thursday, PAC-7 Champ San Luis Obispo [16-2, 12-0] will host the Hart/ La Quinta (W) winner while Arroyo Grande [11-5, 10-2] travels to Oaks Christian [10-4, 7-3]. Tuesdays 'Wild Card' contests include Paso Robles [12-4, 8-4] at West Ranch [10-2, 8-2] & Nipomo [7-10, 6-6] at Downey [11-3, 9-3].

Other Area
Div II #1 seed Santa Barbara [13-4 ,8-0] hosts a Wild Card winner, Dos Pueblos [17-3, 6-2] hosts Esperanza [13-5, 7-3], and San Marcos [11-5, 4-4] travels to Mayfield [15-2, 9-1] - all on Thursday. In Div. V, Bishop Diego [9-2, 8-0] hosts Crossroads for the honor of playing #1 seed Viewpoint.

8-Man Football
Only two area teams were selected for the playoffs. In the Coast Valley League only the North County Crusaders (Atascadero) [7-1, 4-0] made the cut. They received a BYE as the 3rd seed in Div II. The other CVL squads -Cuyama Valley [5-3, 3-1], Maricopa [3-6, 2-2], Valley Christian (Santa Maria) [1-5-1, 1-3], and Shandon [0-9, 0-4] were hurt by poor non-league records.
The Cate Rams, of the Condor League, are the sole Santa Barbara County representative in the playoffs. They are the 10th seed in Div I and travel to Victor Valley Christian on Friday (7 pm). Condor #1 Thacher is the 4th seed, while neither Laguna Blanca [3-4, 1-2] & Dunn [0-3, 2-3-1] qualified. --el stato
