Gridiron Defeats-- Only Big Game Remains

WHAM and BAM! With that the football season ended in Lompoc all but for the Big Game.

At Huyck Stadkum Cabrillo fell 21-17 to Morro Bay to lose the last opportunity for a local grid squad to earn a CIF playoff invitation. In other Los Padres League games undefeated St. Joseph clobbered Santa Ynez, 49-20, Nipomo slugged Santa Maria 37-13, and Templeton slipped past Pioneer Valley 13-12.

Cabrillo finishes league play at 3-4 with four teams ahead of them.

The Lompoc Braves’ playoff possibility in the Pac-7 was already lost before the blues dropped their fifth straight game by a count of 28-3 at Righetti. In other games Paso Robles and Atascadero remained undefeated atop the league with Paso stopping SLO 48-21 and A-town downing Arroyo Grande 34-10. Lompoc looks up at everybody in the Pac-7.
