It was difficult to determine which made Justine McAlister happier - taking Medalist honors or not having to duel against the increasing wind. 


On a somewhat breezy course Thursday afternoon the Greyhounds raced past the Braves. Justine McAlister led the pack to take Medalist honors with a 47 on what is arguably the areas most difficult course.

The visitors lost a pair of strokes due to a scorecard checking error, so remember to ALWAYS check your card BEFORE you sign it.

The same breezy conditions prevailed at the Village Country Club where the
San Marcos Girls golf improved their record to 4-0 with a victory over Cabrillo.

Senior MacKenzie McBride was the medalist after shooting a 42 on a course the Royals had never played.

In the last week or so, this Pirate team has been en fuego!! Thursday on the road at Righetti, they won only their second non-league match in the last four years - the first win was earlier this week at home against SLO. They also set best a team best score - Twice. The 263 they shot yesterday was 5 strokes better than the 268 they posted against Dos Pueblos at Sandpiper on the 24th.

The Braves improved to 1-2 on the nascent season, while dropping the Spartans to the same record.

Braves Head Coach Mark Jasso was not happy with the focus or intensity his team exhibited Tuesday night. Their work Thursday was much improved.

Sometimes it pays to be lucky as well as good (See Tennessee Football), and so it was for PV Thursday. 

Break #1- Saints #1 singles player Patty Perez was out. Break #2 - Before the match began, an injury took out the Santa Maria #3 doubles duo, resulting in 3 set forfeitures. 

The Good - The Panthers won two tie-breaks to provide the winning margin.
