The Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Roundtable assembled a group of the top area athletes at Giovanni's in Orcutt for pizza and other rewards. This week the focus was on Football, and Boys and Girls Cross Country.
The Female Athlete of the Week Award
Taylor Nation, Santa Ynez, Girls Volleyball
Served 22 points (12 aces) in the Pirates sweep of Lompoc Thursday night. Cross-Country Coach Brian Wallace acepted the award for her, due to her absence.
The Male Athlete of the Week Award
Deandre Thomas, Soph, Righetti, Football
Had two TD's Friday night in the 'Battle of the Shield' rivary game versus St.Joseph, including a 91 yard kickoff return to start the 3rd period. The other was a 1st Quarter run that accounted for 16 of his 60 yards rushing (11 carries) in the game.
