CROSS COUNTRY
James Warrick Santa Barbara County XC Championships
Jim Warrick was a fixture at Lompoc High School for decades as an athlete, student, teacher, and coach. He retired last spring from the district and from his duties as the Meet Director of the long running Santa Barbara County Championships. Subsequent to his departure, "Jim's Meet" was officially renamed in his honor by the organizers.
His association with Lompoc HS XC began as a student-athlete, leading him to become an integral member of what Hall of Fame Legend Doug Speck termed "The Best Distance Crew Ever?" - including the undefeated 1972 National Champion Lompoc Braves.
