Braves Take Big Game 33-20

Three touchdowns by BOBBY COLLINS and a stalwart defense led by STEVEN MOREHART enabled the Lompoc Braves to salvage a 33-20 victory in the Big Game to cap what otherwise has been a disappointing season.

Collins streaked 34 yards, 44 yards on a screen pass and 94 yards on a kickoff return all in the first half as Lompoc took a 19-13 halftime lead. Cabrillo scoring in the half came on a SEAN ALLEN plunge after a 52-yard run by MATT ROTONDI, and two PAT COOK field goals.

In the second half defensive end JAMES MITCHELL picked off a pass and raced 46 yards for a Lompoc TD, and after Cabrillo responded on a one-yard dive by GREG WATSON, FAVI VARGAS got loose for 20 yards and a score to wrap Lompoc's scoring.

Morehart (pictured) was named Player of the Game. Lompoc finishes 4-6, Cabrillo 2-8.
