College Roundup-- The Great McIntosh Predicts

Chico State women’s soccer won the CCAA title, and KATIE McINTOSH (can you find her in the picture?) predicted it with her unerring crystal soccer ball!! With the title came an automatic berth in the NCAA Division II tournament beginning Friday.

That was the story from Los Angeles Sunday afternoon.

The Wildcats went in to a shootout at Cal State Los Angeles with the conference title on the line. There was no score after regulation.

As the teams prepared for the shootout McIntosh, the junior midfielder who has started every game, assured her teammates that Chico, with goalkeeper Kari Gonzales, in the cage, would win.
"Assured" is not quite the right word. McIntosh G-U-A-R-A-N-T-E-E-D it.

“After the All-Conference awards came out and Kari wasn't honored we all kind of rallied around her and said we love that she’s our goalkeeper,” explained coach Kim Sutton. “And when it went to a shootout, Katie MacIntosh guaranteed us all we would win with Kari in goal.”
And they did. The Wildcats are 13-5-2 this season.
