Eh, Not So Good [Tuesday's Action]

LPL Girls Tennis
On Senior Day, the Braves had a respectable showing against the soon-to-be LPL Champion Santa Ynez Pirates, albeit against several non-frontline players, Cabrillo clinched a playoff berth, and Santa Maria moved to the threshhold of doing the same.

Conquistadores [8-2 LPL]: Singles (7 - 2) - Magdalena Fabikova 3-0 (18-2 in games), Nikki Peirtsegaele 2-1, Ashley Bowman 2-1. Doubles (6-3) - Bree Piper-Williams/ Kaitlyn Phillips 3-0 (6-3, 6-1, 6-3).

Santa Ynez 13, at Lompoc 5
All five of the Braves points came from senior singles players. Sameeha Husayn notched a pair of victories (6-1 vs. Krystie Rhodes, 6-3 vs. Sidney Tack) to move to 25-8 in LPL competition. Nicole Nomany (1-2) and Ashala Martin (2-1), the only other Brave seniors, captured the rest.

Both Templeton & Nipomo, who had lost 4 consecutive LPL matches, needed wins - and got them. The Eagles slipped a half game ahead of Cabrillo in the standings, and the Titans got back to even in thr LPL.

It has been a somewhat disapointing season for both teams, but the Royals did not want to lose to the Conqs twice this year. They didn't. They zipped out to a 3-0 1st quarter lead, and never looked back. Keyvan Golizadeh had 3 for 4 shooting on the counter-attacks while goalkeeper Chris Bebb had 11 stops.
