Whew !!! A LOT of events today. Five of the 6 winter sports were in action, most at multiple levels. Wrestling, Girls Soccer, and Boys Soccer are here on this post. Girls Basketball is HERE. Boys Basketball is HERE. The other sport ?Girls Water Polo has 22 mostly tri-county teams competing in the Mistletoe Classic starting Friday.

Greyhound keeper Emily Johnson held of several scoring opportunities on dangerous corner kicks by the Braves, including one on a header that had almost stopped hearts on both sidelines. Lompoc has been fighting through a slew of injuries, and one result was moving Brenda Cortez from a defensive position to the attack - she tallied the Braves only goal.
Braves [0-2]: Goal - Brenda Cortez (Maria Tafoya). GK: Audrey Ogden played the entire game, had c. 6 saves, and drew lots of praise from the coaching staff.

Mike Kimmy wasn't happy about losing a game he thought was winnable, but he did like the fact that the team played much better than they did Tuesday.
Braves : Goal (Assist) - Fabiola Gonzalez (Yadira Castellanos). GK: Mercedes Signorelli had 8 saves. Naomi Monroy played "great defense" according to the coaches.
Greyhounds :Goals (Assists) - Makayla Fetzer had both goals, assisted by Melanie Regain on the 1st, and Marina Garcia on the 2nd. GK: Skyler Fleming had 4-5 saves. Defense - Sara Gates drew special mention from the coaches.
