The local Girls Volleyball scene has permanently changed. Both Lompoc and Cabrillo said goodbye to their seniors Monday night, and the Braves also said goodbye to a streak that has plagued them this season.

Orcutt Academy at Cabrillo

The Conquistadores had a preview of what they will see next year when the Spartans join the LPL. They liked what they saw, rolling over an OA squad whose program is still in the process of construction.

Cabrillo started with an all senior line-up and mostly backed them with seldom used reserves.

The Spartans do not have a Freshman team this year.

Mission Prep at Lompoc

Lompoc has lost half a dozen 5-set matches to good teams this season, but on Monday night Aaron Batula finally saw team he knew he had. They faced numerous opportunities to quit, but never did.  

The Royals , who join the PAC-7 next year, staged a comeback to take Game 4, and had 2 Match Points in Game 5, but were turned away both times.

Braves [5-16]: Chyanne Thomas 10 kills, 12 digs, 5 aces; Brittany Bolusan 8 kills, 8 digs, Lexie Barbosa 14 assists; Heidi Chavez 13 assists,2 kills, 3 aces.

Royals [
14-11-1]: Noelle Laird and Rachel Hindmarsh each played well on offense.
