Both Local Grid Squads Win

Cabrillo's GREG WATSON (pictured) rushed for 180 yards in the first half alone Friday night to lead the Conquistadores to their first Los Padres League victory of the season, 55-13 at Huyck Stadium. Cabrillo is now 1-4 with Morro Bay and Templeton still ahead on the schedule.

At Arroyo Grande Lompoc High notched its first PAC-7 victory ever Friday night 35-13. The win keeps the blues in playoff contention at 1-2 in league play with San Luis Obispo and Atascadero coming up in the next two weeks.

In other games in the PAC-7 Atascadero overcame four first half turnovers to down San Luis Obispo 15-3 and Paso Robles came back from a 17-0 second quarter deficit to stop Righetti 49-23.

In the LPL Morro Bay dominated Nipomo 34-0, St. Joseph fought back to force overtime then nipped Templeton 21-20, and Pioneer Valley snapped its three-game losing streak to down Santa Ynez 9-0.
