Torin Simpson to the Warriors

Raider free agent TORIN SIMPSON has been signed by the Warriors.

Not to play exactly, to produce.

For the past three years Simpson has worked with the Raiders’ Silver and Black Productions after beginning there as an intern. “Since then I have become Producer of the television show “Behind the Shield,” Simpson said this week. The show airs on KKFX 24 Santa Barbara/Santa Maria at 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
With the Warriors Simpson will become producer and editor but his work won’t be seen on television.

“I will produce and edit content that will play during the game in-stadium. It is a bit of a change in that it is not for television, but it is the same work none the less.“I am excited about the opportunity. I am looking forward to a little bit of change, meeting new people and advancing my career.”
Simpson played offensive tackle at St. Mary's after leaving Lmpoc High. His interest in video was kindled in college classes.

Aguailar invited back

Despite a disappointing summer BRIAN AGUAILAR has been invited back to spring training by the Colorado Rockies, reports AL HUNT in his Thursday “Lompoc Notebook.” “They still like my defense,” the lefthanded hitting catcher told Hunt. Aguailar batted .311 for Tri-Cities of the Northwest League in 2006 but he was dogged by injury in 2007. Aguailar played at Cuesta and at Oral Roberts before signing with the Rockies as a free agent.

Hain in the CHS Record Book

Another Hunt nugget is that WES HAIN has become the all-time Cabrillo water polo scoring leader. With 250 goals in his varsity career Hain has surpassed ROBBIE BOYER who amassed 244 before he graduated in 1983.
