ATHLETE OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS

ANTHONY BURTLEY, the Los Padres League basketball MVP last season, has been nominated for consideration as Lompoc Valley Male Athlete of the Year.

Burtley averaged 21.8 points per game and 11.3 rebounds as the Braves won their first-ever Los Padres League hoops title. Burtley scored 41 points vs. Morro Bay. In that Morro Bay contest he corralled 16 rebounds and went 12-for-12 from the free throw line. He totaled 60 blocked shots, 55 steals and 45 assists during the season. He scored 30 or more five times. He was also named all-CIF and was awarded a basketball scholarship to Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston, Idaho.
