Karissa Robertson Nominated Athlete of the Year






KARISSA ROBERTSON, the Cabrillo girls soccer team’s leading scorer last winter, simply took her skills and moved up a notch. In the fall she became the leading scorer at the University of Hawaii-Hilo.
At Cabrillo Robertson became the all-time leading goal scorer (105 goals in 4 years), was MVP of the Los Padres League and all-CIF.
With Robertson moved across the water Hawaii-Hilo made its second season in college soccer a memorable one by shouldering its way almost to the top. The Vulcans finished 12-8 and third in the NCAA Div. II Pacific West Conference. Robertson led the scoring with nine goals and four assists.
Robertson joins onetime Cabrillo teammate Katie McIntosh who is now at CSU Chico, Jani Carmona, a current teammate at UHH, Cal Poly golfer Julia Heath, Cabillo water polo standouts Kathryn Nelson and Sarah Ur and Allan Hancock athletes Ariana Fabing and Elysha McLain on the ballot.
