Church 1-for-4

John Smoltz outduelled Johan Santana Sunday as the Braves nipped the Mets 3-1. RYAN CHURCH went 1-for-4 but one of his outs, a line drive to right field, looked so much like a sure base hit that baserunner Carlos Delgado was doubled off first base. After five games Church leads the Mets in batting average at .381.
