CIF-SS Cross Country Prelims

CIF-Southern Section Prelims
[Hilly 2.64-mile course, Mount San Antonio College, Walnut, CA]

Teams and Individuals competed Saturday at Mt. SAC for the right to return to the same location next Saturday for the CIF-Southern Section Finals. Winners at that competition advance to the State Championship.

There were 2-4 Heat Races in each of 5 Divisions for both the Boys (16)and Girls (17). Team advancement: 4 heats - top 4 teams/heat advance; 3 heats - top 5 teams/heat plus the fastest #6 team advance; 2 heats - top 8 teams/heat advance.

Three local squads had qualified at the LPL meet - Cabrillo Boys, Cabrillo Girls, Lompoc Boys. A teams top 5 finishers adjusted places are totalled for the team score. Overall all-division team places: Men [238] - Cabrillo 51st, Lompoc 149th; Girls [234] - Cabrillo 142nd.
