If you believe the adage that a true champion can win under any conditions, then this was the tournament for you. "La Pirahna" was alive, alert, and trolling for strokes on Monday, and it showed in the scores. Most of the scores that is, a hardy few, led by Champ Elizabeth Bernabe (Canyon/Anaheim), showed that they could play in the wind.

The top 28, not including the half dozen or so whose teams also had qualified (*), and ties advanced to the Southern California WSCGA tournament. This resulted in a 3-person play-off on the 18th hole to determine the last 2 places & the 1st Alternate. Jocelyn Chia (Cresenta Valley) and Michelle Falon (Marymount) both bogeyed to move ahead of Renae McAvoy (El Toro). There was also a play-off on the 18th hole to decide 3rd Place. Beckman's Kaitlin Park won that one with an outstanding 30 foot par putt.

Of the locals - only Righetti's Makayla Mier (81) & Maddison Shean (SY, 86) advanced. Desiree Gilaspy (St Joe, 89), and Morgan Salm (Cabrillo, 90), were each just a few strokes back of the cut line (87).
