October Starts with the Linksters

GIRLS GOLF

at Monarch Dunes[Nine Holes]
Nipomo 244, Lompoc 308
It was just a tad bit HOT! (100+) on Monday, but the Titans showed why they are the likely #2 squad in the LPL, and the Braves showed improvement. On 18 Sep 2012 (not quite 2 weeks ago), the Braves posted a score of 334 at the VCC which is generally considered to be an easier course than Monarch. That's an average 5+ stroke improvement per scorer in TWO weeks. In addition, Kayla Doran looks to be back to form. She has been struggling to rehab an injury sustained while playing softball a while back, and on Monday, shot a 57 for the JV squad.

Nipomo came up just short of posting one of the 6 qualification scores (240 or better for a Par 36) they would need to make the CIF-SS playoffs if they do not win the LPL Championship.

Both teams are at the LPL Tournament at Rancho Maria on Thursday.

Titans: Ashley Ruiz 45 [Medalist], Ashley Gonzales 46, Courtney Cuzick 49, Christine DeLaby 52, Destiny Frykman 52.
Braves: Selena Krisher 54, Sarandon Vickery 49 (PB), Nicole Flores 69, Celeste Kamery 68, Moriah Decker 68, Jasmine Martinez 71.

at The River Course at Alisal [Nine Holes Par-36]
Santa Ynez 301, Morro Bay 314
It was the 'Battle of the Jennifers', as well as the 'Battle of the Pirates'. Medalist Jennifer Baltimore (42) took the individual honors the visitors, while Jennifer (AKA Jenny) Andreas carded a 45 to lead the home squad. Laura Fullmer shot a round of 60 to help Santa Ynez take the win.
