Sometimes coaches get stung too. Pirates Head Coach Gretchen Smith decided to let 2 of her usual starters have the day off since they had night classes Monday evening. That made this one close. Braves Head Coach Tom Garrard & a team rule had one of his frequent starters playing as an alternate because she missed practice during the week due to a voluntary, albeit excused, absence. That provided the margin. As it turned out, all three alternates would have scored for their respective teams.
In any event, the real winner on Monday was again the course. It was a beautiful, sunshine filled day and the course was lovely, but (Surprise!! Surprise!!) the wind showed up somewhat in the late afternoon. It wasn't a horrendous feeding frenzy, but it was enough for "La Pirahna" to nibble on a few scores and cause some bleeding.
Pint-size Pirate Jenny Andreas was again the Medalist, navigating the vast oceans of grass on the course quite well, but spending just a bit too much time 'on the beach'. She carded a 51. Sarandon Vickery took 2nd for the Braves, and 3rd went to Mollie Callaghan of the Pirates.
