The Braves took their second consecutive dual meet win of the season, with a Medalist performance by Saradon Vickery (51).

Lompoc's Sarandon Vickery not only swung a nice club Monday - She also carried a big stick. 

It was one of those tricky days at La Purisima where the conditions (sunshine, light wind, course in good shape) lure you into thinking it might be easy. It wasn't. Coach Garrard was happy with the second LPL dual win, but would still like to see his girls break the 300 mark at the Piranha.

NSBCART Luncheon 30 Sep 2013

Time once again to assemble a group of the top area athletes at Giovanni's in Orcutt for the Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Roundtable. This week the focus was on Football, Girls Golf and Girls Tennis.


The Female Athlete of the Week Award 
Desiree Gillaspy, St Joseph, Girls Golf

Desiree Gilaspy

Medaled twice last week. First, on Tuesday in a Dual Meet at the Santa Maria Country Club, where she posted a 39 while leading the Knights to a 281-290 win over SLO. Then on Thursday, she bettered that by a stroke on the Par 35 Dairy Creek front nine at the Pac-7 Tournament #2. St Joseph placed 4th.

The Male Athlete of the Week Award 
Clay Taylor, VCA, Football

Ran for 244 yards & 7 TD's in the Lions' Homecoming victory over Concordia (Sylmar) Friday night. He also had a 5 yard TD reception.

Tsunami Makes Waves [28 Sept]

Tsunami Swim Team

 The Tsunami Swim Team hosted their 1st ever USA Swimming sanctioned meet at the City of Lompoc Aquatic Center. There were 97 participants from 6 clubs competing in the two highest youth age group levels (Blue/Red) established by USA Swimming.  

The 'Blue' Division is for the most experienced/advanced swimmers, 'Red' for those at an intermediate stage, and 'White' for novice competitors.

The clubs in competition were Lompoc Tsunami Aquatics, Santa Maria Swim Club, Puma Swim Club (SLO Co.), SLO Swim Club, North County Aquatics, and the Paso Robles Aquatic Club.

Morro Bay took their varsity and headed further south to run in the Bell-Jeff Invite which consisted of nearly 40 races (w/2221 runners). The Pirates ran in two.

Stanford Invitational

(Palo Alto,CA) [5K] Results HERE

Several Area schools headed north to the 'Farm' with their Varsity units to take part in the Stanford Invitational. There were 12 high school races - 6 each for boys & girls (Divs 1-5 + a 'Championship' div.) and collegiate races for men & women. In most races there were over 30 teams involved.

Nipomo and Santa Ynez were in the Division 4 race (See their results below), except for the Nipomo Girls who were in the seeded Champions race. Several Pac-7 teams were in the Division 3 races
