St Joseph [9-1 LPL] 12 @ Cabrillo [6-3 LPL] 6
The Pirates rolled through the first round 4-2 and never looked back, duplicating the feat in each of the next two rounds. The Knights dominated singles play 7-2 - surrendering a set apiece to Ashley Pennewell and Julie Leyva. Both Ane' McPike & Frankie Eszes swept for the Pirates.
In Doubles, Cabrillo faired a little better, as the Montes sisters (Jessica & Brissa) won two sets (6-1, 6-3, 3-6) and Lanae Magers / Katy Carlson defeated the Knights #1's 6-4 and Jocelyn Walton / Elke Piersegaele topped the #3's 7-6 (7-4).
Santa Ynez [9-0 LPL] 17 Templeton 1
Lauren Gerlach (3), Holly Adam (3), Louise Gyllenram (2), & Nathalia Chaddad (1), won every set they played. The Pirates used six doubles combinations in route to an 8-1 advantage in the pairs. Each of the starting pairs played two sets.
Morro Bay 13 Santa Maria 5
The improving Saints took the doubles - winning 5 sets to 4, but got skunked in singles.
Lompoc had the BYE.

The Conqs [6-3 LPL] rolled past the Saints in Santa Maria 25-7, 25-19, 25-13. Kaylee Long had 14 kills, Jessica Farley added 13 more, and Tiffany Lee contributed 9 kills and 6 blocks to the frontline effort. Calli Matulis led the back row with 10 digs, and Kelly O'Connell had 9 digs and 4 aces.
St Joseph 3 Lompoc 0
At Hofschute gym, the Knights got big games from Dayna Drewniak (11 kills, zero hitting errors) and Natasha Kolbo (19 serves). Hayley Baldwin kicked in 4 kills as St Joe cruised past the Braves 25-18, 25- 11, 25- 12.
Santa Ynez 3 Morro Bay 0
This perturbation, between a pair of Pirate protagonists in Santa Ynez, was never really a problem. Santa Ynez promptly prevailed 25-11, 25-14, 25-12. Nicole Tomasini ran the offense digging 6 and serving 4 aces. Caitlyn Wright [6 kills, 2 aces] and Aly Squires [6 kills, 3 blocks] also had good nights for the southernmost Pirates.
Templeton had the League BYE, but took on their local rival - Coast Union. The Eagles fell 25-14, 25-15 , 23-25, 25-17 to the Broncos.
Upcoming Games
Cabrillo is home for their final three LPL matches - St Joseph (10/30), Morro Bay (11/4), and Santa Ynez (11/6).
Lompoc has three regular season matches remaining, but only two are LPL contests. They are at Mission Prep today (10/29), have Thursday off, and play at Templeton on Tuesday (11/4) and Santa Maria on Thursday (11/6). --- el stato
