CIF Winter Pre-Season Polls, Girls VB Semi's

CIF Winter Sports Polls

The CIF-SS has released pre-season polls in 4 of the 6 Winter sports. Girls Wrestling is still not really considered to be a separate entity by the Federation, and the Basketball polls haven't been released yet.

Several local squads were listed, including the Cabrillo Girls Soccer Team (Div 5 #3) who return almost everyone from a 22-1-6 campaign last season. The Cabrillo Girls Water Polo team is ranked 9th in D5

Boys Soccer

 After Saturday, there were only two area teams still left in the CIF-SS Girls Volleyball Playoffs, now there are none. Both Coastal Christian (Arroyo Grande) and Laguna Blanca (Santa Barbara) lost Tuesday evening.

This clash of unseeded teams went the distance, with the Owls coming up just short. They managed to take a 2-1 lead on the road, but couldn't hold it, mainly due to the Huskies 6'3" Marjana Phillips.
