Boys Basketball (AD Albright) - None. The team travels to the Archbishop Riordan tournament in the Bay Area this weekend. According to Albright, they "graduated a lot of seniors off of the team that went to the CIF Finals last year, but they've got a lot of good players coming back." That includes 2 starters (one being soph Cameron Walker), and "6 or 7 guys" who are 6-5 or taller - most of whom are underclassmen.

Girls Water Polo (AD Albright) -  The late arriving Sarah Kaeden (Sr) & Amanda Sechler (Sr).

Both are midfielders and 4 year players who have been working extensively with the new staff since June. First year coach McGillivray has a relatively veteran group to work with - 7 seniors, 7 juniors, 3 sophomores, and a freshman. The team plays OA on Tuesday, and plans to go to two tourneys in December (Bakersfield & Glendale), before starting league play in January.

Girls Water Polo (Charlie Bell) - Meryl Adam, Cassidy Baldwin - both  are team captains.

Coach Bell has a young group this season, with only 2 seniors. They open on Tuesday with Santa Ynez, after a tough scrimmage with Cabrillo.

McNeil (Sr) is a 4 year starter and had 5 goals in the opener. Taylor Shaaf (So) had 3 goals last week versus PV. The Saints will field a full JV squad this season for the 1st time in "probably 6 or 7 years".

Other Sports (AD Graack) - Boys & Girls Basketball start Tuesday against Orcutt Academy, and Wrestling opened last week versus PV. Boys & Girls Soccer also start this week, with the fellas taking on St. Joseph on Tuesday, and the gals facing OA on Wednesday.

Santa Ynez Pirates

Girls Soccer (Rob Cantrell) - Kat Rocha, Natalee Yamasaki (both are captains & 4 year letter-winners).

Another veteran squad. SY only had 3 seniors (all non-starters) graduate from last years team. They return 14 varsity players. The varsity consists of 5 freshmen, 5 sophomores, 6 juniors, and 4 seniors according to Coach Cantrell. There were 16 frosh out for the team, and 27 girls that he feels could play varsity. They play Righetti and PV this week.
