The, ahem, 'high-water marks' for the Pirates were a 1st quarter tie at 2 and consecutive goals to tie it at 4 all early in the 2nd period. They trailed 4-2 after one, and 7-4 at the halftime break.

It was a good day for the PAC-7. Its top 2 seeds teams advanced to the Semifinals by defeating the top pair from the Freeway League. Righetti raced to a 10-2 halftime lead against La Habra, and played even the rest of the way. The Eagles survived a nail-biter versus Troy.
