The two schools faced off in a pair of contests on Wednesday - Boys Golf & Frosh Baseball.

BOYS GOLF
The Lompoc Braves made the trip up the hill to Katowski Castle (AKA the Village Country Club) to take on Cabrillo amid the blustery winds of their home course. As expected, the Conquistadors came out on top 239- 273. [Story]

Junior Varsity
No formal JV competition was held, but several JV members finished the 9 holes. Lompoc - Zach (64), Christian (61), Mr. Byrd (67). Cabrillo - Clarke Reiner (55), Garrison Haskins (50), Ben Kramer (55), Nick Bell (50), Jay Heath (51).


FROSH BASEBALL

Lompoc 7, Cabrillo 1
Lompoc jumped on the Conqs early, scoring 4 runs in the first. They would add 2 more in the fourth and 1 in the fifth. Workhorse Lucas Martin went five for the Braves. He struck out 6, and allowed only 2 hits, but did hand out 4 walks. After he finally gave up a run, Slikker relieved him with 2 innings of shutout ball (3 strike-out, 0 walks, 1 hit, and 1 hit batsman).

Aaron Kucharski was 1-3 (2 RBI, HBP), but his one hit was a round-tripper. Stevie Pico went 1-3, with a walk and a run scored, while Martin had 3 RBI at the plate to bolster his effort on the mound.

Starter Jeffrey Watson went 4 innings and took the loss for Cabrillo.

Chelsea Cassulo
On Wednesday, at Cerritos College (Norwalk), Hancock College freshman Chelsea Cassulo scored 3,444 points to place 11th in a field of 29 at the SoCal Women’s Pentathlon Championships. [100m H 17.59; high jump 4-2; shot put 34-7 3/4; 200m 28.6; long jump 15-9; javelin 86-8; 800m 2:50]

Tuesday, Elysha McLain [CHS] hit a double and had two RBIs, and Jessica Garcia pitched a four-hit complete game shutout as AHC (12-18, 6-9 WSC) tallied a 3-0 win over LA Pierce .

Saturday, at the Santa Barbara Easter Relays, Ariana finished in 11th of 23 runners in the Woman's JC 1500m race with a time of 5:32.85.
